Sounds a little bit like our football program in some ways.
But our basketball coach gets a pass why?
Did I say he gets a pass? All I said was give him until after next season and see what happens.
No. Our team has not been terrible since Gundyâs first season. We are at least average, usually pretty good, and once every ten years, yes, great.
Iâm ok with one more year with Boynton, Iâm also ok with firing him this year.
Iâm fine giving boynton a pass itâll show the next coach they have time. And wonât be a pay out.
Itâs just so funny how ur will to give him a pass. If u wonât give gundy one when he goes 12 and 2.
If he canât get boone out on the floor I dnt see this team with a winning record.
I said it was a good season and the ND win was a good win. Do you not pay attention?
Yes I do. But, at the same time u say itâs good u tell us all sort of things that are wrong. So in the end ur not giving him any breaks. For ever nice things say u say 3 bad things. How is that positive.
I will say to allthe guys who didnât like boynton calling his players selfish ( which is the same as gundy calling them snowflakes) it look as it worked.
Only 12 3âs shot.
Over 50% assist.
But boynton has got to do something about rebounds.
He has got to get boone out on the floor.
Everybody is on ice, yes no points suck. But until some one rebounds and gives more assist we have to have him. This game was how he needs to do it
I dislike the Sooners and their fans as much as anybody. I have to give credit where credit is due though. OU menâs basketball has been very classy towards OSU basketball when it comes to remembering the 10. Sampson did it, Iâm sure Kruger did it as heâs pure class in everything, and Moser paid his respects.
to OUMBBALL
OUWrestling on the other hand is not representing themselves well in the class department and could learn from OUMBBALL.
Same goes for OUFootball.
Iâm aware thereâs some hyperbole being spoke here. Who do you think has a better basketball program between OU & OSU? Use whatever criteria you feel necessary to answer. The only absolute is that OSU has the better arena. Lloyd Noble is not good.
OSU, but the last fifteen years has narrowed the gap.
@jake4 By what measure do you use? Over the last 50 yearsâŚâŚ
Final Four: OU-3 OSU-2
Elite 8: OU-6 OSU-3
Sweet 16: OU-11 OSU-6
Appearances: OU-30 OSU-21
Reg Season Titles: OU-6 OSU-2
Conf Tourney Titles: OU-7 OSU-4
OU leads in every single category.
Again, GIA is superior to LNC. Fan support Iâd give the loyalty edge to OSU, but neither is getting much of anything if the teams arenât good.
Both programs have had great coaches & some that werenât very good. But Iâm not sure where youâre labeling one program as â OU is not good at basketball. Every10 years, theyâre really good, and the rest of the time theyâre somewhere between terrible or just all rightââŚyet not the other?
Rite now they both suck.

Better facilities, better fan loyalty, two national titles and a runner up. Yes, that was the 40s, but I donât know what value â50 yearsâ as an arbitrary number has⌠I guess so you can squeeze in OU having conference titles and tourney titles. The national titles also take us out of the category of historic teams that have made the Final Four four times without ever winning it. I think OU is alone in that distinction.
I canât believe youâd âgive us the edgeâ in fan support. LNC has never rocked like GIA. Not even in years with Hield or Griffin. OU fans do not care about basketball.
Yes, â50 yearsâ is an arbitrary number. So was the â15 yearsâ that you mentioned. Fifty years is also a pretty good chunk when being able to add a little balance to relevance of a program. I wasnât picking a fight Chief. I was just asking where you were coming from. I do find your hypocrisy when assessing OSUâs hoops titles in the 40âs as relevantâŚâŚ.yet Nebraskas football titles in the 90âs werenât relevant in the blueblood discussion. You are correct in saying OU has never won a basketball national title. OSU won 2âŚâŚâŚ75yrs ago. If that tips the current scale in your opinion of who currently has a better programâŚâŚ.thatâs ok. I agreed on the venue. The LNC is a dump. Fan support is currently brutal at both. On the whole, I completely agree on OSU having better fan support. I just think for someone to say that OU has a terrible basketball programâŚâŚmay need to check the last 50 years when assessing their own program.
I do think that OSU basketball is good discussion if someone is willing to be unbiased. Where does it rank as a program? What kind of job is it? Honest discussion
15 years wasnât arbitrary. I was roughly encapsulating Holderâs tenure as AD.
Got it
