This is definitely an eight win program. I think with Gundy still stuck in 2006 combined with almost total reliance on offense from a few NFL prospects, and a defense that during Gundy’s tenure has not been consistently very good screams 8-4 on good years and maybe an occasional big win every other season.
The problem you have now as opposed to earlier years is that Iowa State and Baylor have improved their programs while TCU, K State, and others you could flip a coin on. Gundy is now being matched or outcoached by other coaches in the Big 12. Now Gundy is stuck trying to figure out how to beat Texas Tech all over again.
