Thanks for stopping by – here’s your daily dose of Oklahoma State sports news.
Aside from the fact that both are OSU alums, Gundy and Self don’t belong in the same sentence.
Hey PFB, no report on Ollie Gordon only running a 4.61 40 at the combine? 2nd slowest among RBs? What happened? He’s gotta be faster than that. He should get another opportunity on a pro Day in the near future, but he has to lower that speed by at least a tenth or his draft stock will drop like a rock.
Cowboy Golf Update:
Third ranked Arizona State threatened to run off from everyone in the first round at the Cabo Collegiate. The Sun Devils fired an 8-under 276. But the Cowboys said “No sir,” and held tight to post a three-under 281 to be only five strokes back. Third-place Arkansas was at three-over 287.
Want more reason reason for optimism about this OSU team? Consider this: freshman Filip Fahlberg-Johnsson’s first hole was a SIX OVER NINE of a the 178-yard par 3 8th hole. Six over. After one hole. For a freshman.
And the freshman responded by clawing back to three-over until bogeying his final hole for a total of 75. Because No. 5 player Gaven Lane, the Cowboys needed Fahlberg-Johnsson’s score. FFJ’s grit and determination were impressive!
Elsewhere, the Cowboys had a four-under 67 from Preston Stout and a three-under 68 from Ethan Fang. Eric Lee had an even-par 71 after carding FIVE birdies on the back nine.
