It’s obvious that rmt is one of those glass half empty guys that the article was referring too. Well, I’m a glass half full guy. I believe that my school has out kicked the coverage for so long that it has produced ou style fans who don’t appreciate the quality of coaching and teams that coaching has produced in the past 20 years.
IMHO, these negative fans lack of perspective and our lack of overall fans in numbers are one of the very few things holding us back from a natty and more consistent conference titles. I actually believe this is the year that BOTH could happen. We return 34 redshirt seniors for crying out loud! An entire online of 25 year olds!
The reason the pundits are undervaluing us has much less to do with our QB (whom I think is going to be far better this year than his undervalued 3rd in the league yardage passing was last year), and everything to do with massive media ignorance about our team. They have little to no idea what we return past Ollie and discount all the wins last year as lucky…they hold three or four teams we beat last year in higher regard when we return the exact same team plus experience and another year of work. They are morons, as are IMHO some of our own fans.
Would I love to see us be less conservative late in games resulting in tighter scores than they should be on the final score board. Yes. But am I going to discount the massive amount of talent and hard work over half a decade we having returning because of three head scratching losses from a younger team? Nope that would be “moronic.”
My point, get behind these cowboys and set your expectations high. This is a HUGE year, if not the best year ever for the program, it is going to be very very close to it. Go Pokes!
