First OSU sports program to win new Big 12 conference championship?

Just curious to get everyones opinion on who you believe will win the first new Big 12 conference championship at OSU? Now that we are adding the four corner schools. My bet goes to the softball program. Soccer? Track?

Track and field or cross country. Softball is a nope as long as Goon is here for one more f’in year.

I am speaking of the after OU/TX leave.

Wrestling. Kind of joking since ASU is the only school bringing it. Other than that I am all in on Football to win a conference championship.

This is nothing original as all three have already been said but XC, softball, and wrestling are all already among the best in the Big 12, but if I had to give a dark horse it would be women’s tennis. Much like softball the top 3 the last few years has been us, OU, and Texas, so the new Big 12 should be set up really well.

As soon as Goon leaves it’ll be Softball. Arizona is going to be the only other softball program on our level in the conference.

I guess I could either see men’s or women’s golf just cause historically were good at those, or wrestling if we figure out what went wrong last year.

I would say softball but Utah coming in hot.

EQUESTRIAN :horse_racing: - yes, this is in fact an official Big 12 sport

That’s for you @JustGary and @brooksM

Except that I’m pretty sure it’s not an NCAA sport and I don’t think they do conference championships either. Could be wrong about the CC though. Don’t feel like looking it up.

Meat judging?

They do have a conference championship but the “conference” consists of 4 teams. Baylor, Fresno State, OSU, and TCU.

My bet would be on wrestling, but only because their season comes before softball.

Arizona State is solid in softball. They recently lost their coach to Texas A&M (after Coach G turned them down a year or two ago).

Everyone can call me crazy. But if Nardo pans out and either Rangel or flores work out, we’re fairly young. They could be a real legit unit in 2024 and could win one. Just gotta hope the portal giveth more than it taketh away.
