Five Thoughts on Oklahoma State's 74-64 Loss to No. 8 UConn

OSU falls in its Big 12-Big East Battle game.

You could have anyone as coach and they couldn’t be any worse than boynton. OSU isn’t going to get more talented than what’s on this roster and it’s pathetic how badly coached they are. This team is experienced, talented, blue chip players. They have size as well. Most size in over 20 years. But they take bad 3 point shots, the ball doesn’t move. Bunch of one on one. They should change coaches now. A coach that will not tolerate bad shots and the season could be saved.

Yep. Shaping up to be like last year. At least the women’s team is doing pretty well.

Offense is still putrid for good stretches of the game. Defense is still pretty â– â– â– â–  good. But for how bad they played for stretches I think we had a decent shot to win without some ref fuckery. Something like 3-15 fouls the first half yeah right. Tournament or bust.

Had they played cleanly, who knows what could have happened. I got tired of the announcers making UConn’s center into the second coming of Akeem and Wilt, he’s good but geez give me a break. I do like their fight, that’s one thing that is fun to watch……

Unconventional thinking here I know, but why not put Cissé back in to try and stop that run UConn was making in the first half? If he picks up his third foul then pull him out again before halftime. As it was, the game was decided by the time Boynton put him back in the game after halftime.

UConn is a national championship team and osu was on the road and uConn played really well. Tough fight but better team won for sure. Bouton’s seat is getting hot.

Avery is still Avery. Gets to the rim but having a hard time finishing.

Avery still plays out of control at times.

Refs seemed to fear letting anybody touch their players (UCon). I wonder if UCon is capable of winning any game if they played in the Big12 where the refs let the players play.

Announcers acted like they were employees of UCon’s conference. Pretty tiresome. Had to turn off the sound so I could enjoy the game.

Yep have to agree the ref’s were calling fouls for very minor things and it seemed the calls pretty much went one direction. And yes the announcers were very much homers, I too quit listening and just watched the game with the sound turned off.

I like Moussa Cisse - A LOT!

But…

I know Cisse gave serious thought to going the NBA route after last season. Last night shows he made the right decision to come back. Playing against NBA-caliber competition, it did not go well.

I believe he’ll get there and I believe last night will help.

Lastly, where has Woody Newton gone??
