Four-Star Corner Kobe Black Commits to Texas, Storylines to Follow Entering Signing Day

I will also add that I don’t think there is any clear cut best program next year in the B12. There are not giants to slay and it will be a conference of peers. I would say the top programs will be Utah, OSU, Kansas St, and maybe Arizona, Baylor, TCU, UCF? Tech? Really in any given year any of the schools could rise up into the top four.

My only question is if it matters who chose not to play.

I think it was #4 Baylor in 2013. I could be wrong though.

From a total wins perspective…yes. From a conference championship perspective….no. The following programs have more conference titles:

  • Utah (3)
  • Baylor (3)
  • K State (3)
  • UCF (6)
  • Houston (3)
  • Arizona State (3)
  • BYU (4)

That’s since 1996.

I feel like OSU never had a full squad for bowl games. Someone gets hurt or now the portal

Not all conference titles are created equal. Also, by that regard you forgot TCU. And don’t count their faux one in 2014

Arizona St only has 2

Not winning conference titles is equal across the board.

Completely disagree. TCU won how many conference titles before B12 and none since. 2014 does not count. UCF has won 6 titles, but how many decades will it take to win 6 more? Houston, BYU, UCF, Cincy, will have a tough time to win titles again.

You don’t think 12 years is having a tough time winning titles? There’s nothing to make anyone think Gundy is going to start winning championships just because OU and Texas. If they were the only thing standing in the way, we would have won in 2021.

This is a typical pivot in your discussion. You implied that winning any conference title was significant by listing UCF, Houston BYU etc. I understand AsU and Utah P12 titles. In the past 12 years Ou (6) and Texas (1) have won 7 titles. They cannot win any more B12 titles any more. The whole complexion changes next year this will be a conference of peers. There is no blueblood. However, there are more teams. But the point is probably moot as I think Gundy will retire before 60. UCF, Houston BYU and Cincy are going to a much more difficult time winning titles.

Have you seen the improvement this year from Zona? They’re ranked #12 and playing the Land Squatters in a bowl game. They had a good QB, de Laura, who got hurt, freshman comes in and looks even better. Baylor is DOWN, lost QB1 Shapen to Miss State, TCU is DOWN, UCF will improve. Tech might fire their HC, there are rumors he does not get along w/ the AD or the Prez or both, forgot.

So are you suggesting that Arizona will rise to the top and win 6 of the first 10 new B12 titles? Arizona has done well, but with their history, their similar athletic budget and recruiting I don’t see them dominating the league.
I agree Arizona has done very well and Fifta is an excellent qb and they might beat the depleted Sooners.

You got ALL of that based on what I said? That mind is out there, bro, LOL! Never said anything about dominating, never said anything about winning a Big 12 title, wowza! :joy:  :sob:
