LIVE BLOG: Oklahoma State Heads to Waco in Search of its First Big 12 Win

I would say it feels like the Stanley days but back then I was drunk a lot and it’s been a lot of years since I watched football back then LOL

I’d be just fine if Gundy decided to step down after this turd.

You can tell he doesn’t actually want to do this anymore anyway. College football has left him in the dust and he has no interest in adapting. Just step down man, you’ll still be a legend and a millionaire.

Is Bowman starting the rest of season? Seriously. Give these reps to Smith.

lots of arguments out there to let the freshman play

From within the staff/team?

Based on what? His 125th ranked defense last season? His 129th ranked defense this season? Or that his players are so good at missing tackles? What basis can you justify keeping Nardo?

It’s only year 2 and the D has been hit hard by injuries. I don’t think even Jim Knowles could overcome this offense.

I’m extremely worried that Gundy is gonna fire Nardo and not the real culprit, Kasey Dunn.

Fire Nardo if you want, I won’t lose sleep over it. But if we don’t also fire Dunn it will not matter at all.

I’ve give it some more thought and I’ve concluded IMO, so it is just me, that Nardo is failing miserably and I don’t think there is any recovery or getting better. If we could only let one coordinator go it would be him.

I actually agree with you. Let Nardo have a 3rd year and give him the keys completely. No 4th lineman crap. He wants to run a 3-3-5, then let him run a 3-3-5. Heck its why we hired him. We modified it to capitalize on Oliver, because we learned last year that Oliver can’t cover as a linebacker, but he’s a fantastic pass rusher. But he’s too small to play DE, especially in a 3-man front.

But Dunn has to go. I’ve been asking for it since Sanders was QB.

I said that this feels like the Simmons years. I want to stand corrected. We still beat Baylor back then. This is worse.

Graduate 1978, yes it is but the bottom is deeper. Be careful what you wish for LOL.

I’ll gladly endure worse if I feel like we’re trying to get better rather than simply accepting mediocrity.

Yes change is needed no doubt. It’s just that we need to have our eyes wide open about the possible results, both good and bad.

Ignoring the injuries the defensive philosophies and extreme lack of tackling is more than enough to send him packing. It was a nice try by Gundy, but Nardo isn’t ready!

Interesting that other schools, such as OU, WVU, and UCF, believe there is value in firing bad coordinators mid-season.

Yea I’ve mentioned it before many times HC’s do it just to show they are taking action, whether it is helpful or not, just to try and save themselves. There are other reasons as well but none are going to have a good chance to show real improvement.

You bring up an interesting question in my mind: How bad does it have to get for people to want change simply for the sake of change?
