What OSU DE combo can we compare Ford & Oliver to? As well add Brock Martin & Tyler Lacy and this must be the the deepest and most talented we have ever been at DE? Of course I remember O’Neal and Harding In the 80s, but did they have the depth of this unit? Thoughts?

Well O’Neal was a nose tackle. But we haven’t been this deep on defense for at least the jimmy years.

With this dline we just need the lb to be in the right spots.

Leslie O’Neal was not a nose tackle. He was a DT in a 5-2 defense. John Washington was the Nose Tackle.

That was always my favorite bunch. Last year was about equal to me. Different brand of ball when Leslie was here but still a very good defense. I’ve always wondered how we got Ford and Oliver from under uo nose. Don’t think Riley wanted them ?!?!

Leslie could play about about anywhere on the DL … I heard Jimmy say he never worked so hard to recruit a kid

I think OU saw both Ford and Oliver as too small. Ford was 227 when he was recruited and Oliver about the same.

Well Brent mite not let these guys go. When he came in he offer brown a scholarship and riley won’t touch him.
Brent is suppose to be a d guru.

Yea at 227 and a HS recruit that isn’t small at DE… Both will grow 20 lbs easily for a rush end. Maybe they wanted them to play inside ?

Looks like mentioning Martin is a no no.
