PROTECT YOUR HOMES, VOTE FOR GRAD AND OHMS!!
Oh yeah, playing boomer sooner is an act of terrorism on US soil. Punishable by up to 20 years at Guantanamo Bay.
I like it!
Not harsh enough.
The playing of boomer sooner.
If OKC were to get a 2nd pro team, what would everyone want it to be in?
Iām saying NHL, a hockey team here would be so much fun. NHL kicks ass
Iād really like a MLB team
I would also, but unfortunately I really donāt believe it would get much support. I do, however, wonder if an NFL team might do well. Weāre a football-rich state and we could have a rivalry with the Chiefs and/or Cowboys.
I agree with NHL. Plus they can share arena with Thunder. Less competition around.
I think NFL would be tough. Huge new stadium with 70K+ at each game. Plus it would really impact both OSU & ou with attendance.
Iād rather kick OU out of the state than have an NFL team.
Iām worried about an nfl team because of what it would do to the colleges. I know football typically has a bigger following but LNC and GIA were always cram packed before 08. Attendance has fallen since OKC arrived, the team got worse, and now interest is relatively close to an all time low. I donāt want to see that happen to the football teams. And theyāre both not in great standing with their fanbases currently.
NFL. Football is my favorite sport but I just donāt really care about any of the teams in the NFL. I think we could support one honestly.
I get what youāre saying but I think thatās just because the Thunder was good and both OSU and OU sucked. If we get back to making the tourney every year and have some good runs our attendance will go up.
Yeah, I agree with most of that. But OU and OSU were both still pretty good in 2008. Both of them were fairly solid until 2015/2016. Then they both kinda fell off the map.
I think NHL would work, but if we are talking what is more likely to happen, it will be MLS. Soccer is growing in the state by leaps and bounds and we are already building a new stadium for the āminor leagueā soccer team. It just makes sense.
Agreed, but NHL is looking for expansion cities and weāre about to have 2 pro-quality NBA+NHL arenas in downtown OKC after the new one is built.
If we got a NHL team Iād immediately become a fan of the sport.
NHL is fun to watch on tv, playoff NHL is incredible to watch on tv, and playoff NHL in person is one of the best sporting events you could go to.
Good point. I think with the new arena, NHL might move ahead. I also think we were behind other cities, like Nashville, SLC and LV. But they have NHL now. So, outside of maybe Portland, we should be pretty attractive to NHL.
Iām not sure if itās just an East coast thing or what because Iāve never been to a different NHL game, but something I thought was interesting is that every Bruins game Iāve been to Iād bet more than 80% of the fans there wear hockey jerseys. Around here for football or baseball, the number of jerseys worn by fans seems pretty minimal. Just t-shirts and sport shirts, etc.
