I think I heard Steve Kerr calling out the team for lack of effort or something similar. Is this accurate? If so, does this group just not want to play for Kerr? Or do they just think there’s too much talent not to coast to gold?
Haven’t read anything like that but sometimes these coaches feel like they have to call something out to keep them motivated and/or get haters off their backs. Effort is always an easy thing to call out.
Also haven’t been able to watch any tune-ups do maybe they truly do need to be better.
Steve Kerr is a good coach but overrated imo. He got lucky with some incredible roster building by management and all he had to do was not screw it up. Mark jackson doubled his win totals in the span of 2 years as their core was growing into themselves, and then they axed him for Kerr as the players hit their prime. Then when Walton took over for Kerr for 24 games or whatever they literally never lost a single game. Went 24-0 without Kerr. lol
He can coach obviously but any decent coach would have excelled with that roster. It’s not like they needed Kerr specifically or else they would have failed with anyone else. IMO Spoelstra is a much better coach.

I think he was just saying that the effort needs to increase now that the games actually matter, they were able to coast and win those games but now each game will be much tougher than they already were
but with max effort this team will be fine

Kerr is the head coach for these olympics, he coached all the exhibitions as well

Yes, but we have greatly accelerated the rate at which it changes. We have the ability to look at broad climate over the last several thousands of years pretty accurately and we can look at what it’s done in the last 150 since industrialization and compare the trends.

Not denying climate change or anything, but just speaking on that specific point, how accurate are weather readings pre-1850? I see a lot of posts about atmospheric conditions, water levels / temperatures, etc rising rapidly from 1850 on compared to before 1850, and I’m really interested to know how they had all of that accelerated data 200+ years ago.
