Need to get with ur buddy logan I think he had a accounting class.

If a guy gave 30 million ear marked only for the baseball stadium. Then the schools came up with, for the last time, 30 MILLION.

U got guys like jug who wants more money for rodeo club.

Dude take your inbred asss elsewhere you can say earmarked all you want, holder and company fundraised specifically for it and now the football program has to pay for the upkeep. Bottom line quit fundraising for non revenue sports.

The point is they are able to figure out how to get funding for massive projects that don’t bring in any money but can’t figure out how to get money to pay for championship level football coaching especially after the comments being made the last week and a half about making OSU a big time football school.

I really think Chad and shrum will do a much better job getting money to the football program, it’ll just take some time, holder had to pander to all of the non revenue sports so he could justify pumping money into private golf courses

Yeah, it looks like we can expect middle of the pack in the “new” Big 12 with the occasional team that exceeds expectations.

I hope you are right. What Gundy was saying last week did have me excited but losing Knowles killed that excitement a decent bit. Hopefully Gundy strikes gold again on Knowles V2 because what is in place on offense right now isn’t anywhere near championship level. It looks barely bowl eligible level.

Well I for one won’t wish Knowles good luck he is just like all these coaches following the money.

I’m with ya man

They’re giving him 700K more a year to begin with. That’s an easy decision in 99% of situations. Our offer wasn’t competitive.

I understand ur guys points. But the big donors who gave money to the sports were not going to give that kind of money to the football program.
My point is these programs and the events they hold do help osu and stillwater overall.
By what u guys are saying we should have pumped all that boone money into football. We could of had a new stadium. The refit of gia only has only allowed the wrestling team have bigger attendance. Basketball would have been fine with 8000.
Stillwater is just osu. So have good programs and stadiums is as good as putting 100,000 flowers out all thur campus.

It was said he want closer to home. It’s reported to be a 2.5 mill job. That deal was done in a day.
On the osu side they were trying to give him a contract thur the year.
I’m sorry but their were things we have to look at about Knowles. First gundy told him he needed to change after that first year. Most the players that were out their were not his. Did he recruit. We got 5 this year.
Sure he can do well at tosu he will get better players.

One of u talked about up keep. Sure these will have up keep. It’s like cars a new car needs less then an old one.
Thing is we got to have nice stuff. Some of are recruits play baseball u dnt think they would like that new stadium.

I’m tired of the athletic budget excuses for trying to win the Big 12. What Gundy isn’t telling you guys is that Baylor’s athletic budget is literally half of OSU’s currently. Gundy would be better served getting out of coaching and being a politician.

Maybe the couple that play both care but everyone else that just plays football doesn’t I can guarantee you that.

On a different tone and somewhat of a blackpill this years coaching carousel, including the Knowles hire by tOSU, is a stark reminder that College football is far from a fair level playing field. The have not’s and have’s are very clear to see and there is no good path to moving from the former to the latter. What is brutally clear is that because of a school status (i.e. blue blood vs not a blue blood) and more importantly the huge gap in budgets between them schools like OSU will never be a consistent contender for a NC. It’s just the hard truth sad is it is.

30 million would give us some good assistant coaches.

Well Baylor is private so i don’t know how their budget is known for sure but Yea when it comes to B12 champs budget may not be as big a factor. Although I will say it is a factor in B12 titles when your DC is hired away when you don’t have the budget to retain them.

Which is a better selling point at stillwater.
A. A&m as the tallest building
B. 100,000 new flowers
C. The west side of campus. Where they shovel stuff.
D. The best collegiate baseball stadium.
