This gives me continued concern about our pitching staff. The only one you can count on to pitch well is Nolan McLean, yikes! The bullpen has collapsed. This team had it all but now seems to be faltering. Bats hot and cold, pitching cold. Going backwards. And all these guys injured.

It was tough to watch but it’s baseball. We definitely need to improve in the bullpen. They had chances to win. I did aquire tickets for the Sunday game weather permitting.

Interesting thing about New Mexico upsetting Texas Tech is that their stands looks almost completely empty of fans. That’s how Cowboy baseball games used to look like in the 1960’s during the Chet Bryant era. We had no stadium. Just a baseball diamond behind Bennett Hall. One set of bleachers behind home plate. A few hundred fans might show up for a game. I am probably exaggerating the numbers on the high side. The team just had no following. Fans only attended football, basketball and wrestling.

We did pitch a bunch of guys that hadn’t had much action. We will have 3 closers before the season ends
