During this summer when Gotlieb and montonati were calling the euro games they said they would have loved to play for boynton

And this could be a big part of Boyntonâs problem. Most elite athletes will tell you that they were most successful when they had a real hard ass as a head coach. The coach canât be buddy-buddy with the athlete. It just doesnât work. If the athlete needs hand holding, that is what assistant/position coaches can do. But the head coach has to command respect and demand perfection where all mistakes and/or lack of mental/physical preparation have meaningful consequences. Maybe Boynton secretly does that in practice, but the post-game interviews with he and players never seem to suggest it. Eddieâs players often would talk about consequences for poor play in their post-game interviews.

I have a friend that coaches JuCo basketball so I like to attend some games. They shot 83% free throw, 48% field goal, and 29% 3pt. The offense flowed nicely with solid fundamentals on passing, pick and roll, driving, shot selection. I was amazed at how much better they âlookedâ than OSU right now⌠not in athleticism but just fundamentally and better basketball IQ. I know this JuCo team wasnât playing D1 competition. But, if we are honest, OSUâs opponents so far havenât looked D1 caliber either.
