Word on the street is Ethan may be more talented than Jackson.
Iām inclined to think Molsky will return, but who knows except him. If heās ready to just put college ball in his rear-view mirror, begin his professional development a year earlier, and accept a pretty small SB (maybe $150 range?) then I suppose he wonāt. I think he has a lot more upside potential with an extra year.
He very well might, but when players come back for their senior year, they lose all of their negotiating leverage. It may be $150K now, but only $10K next year. I hope he comes back, but round 12 is a pretty good spot.
I thought the same thing last year and then they struck gold with Brian Holiday, Sam Garcia, and Cranz. This incoming recruiting class also has the potential to be really good. Garrett Shull (OF) was a top 75 prospect in this draft and went undrafted. The pitching with this class has a chance to be really good too. Multiple guys that can throw over 95. Obviously, they may not work out but its a good start.
Incoming freshman Noah Wech was also drafted in the 19th roundā¦ Youād think weād see him on campus but who knows. Heās another incoming freshman that can touch 95.
Itās always a risk in one form or another, but for the most part he doesnāt have much more negotiating leverage now than he would next year. A little, yes, but itās not like he can negotiate his way up to the $300+ range
Saw the Shull kid play the past two years. Heās legit! I think heās the best hitter in Oklahoma, including Ethan Holliday, who Iāve also seen quite a bit the past two years. Shull is big, powerful, but also has great speed and athleticism. He will fit nicely in the outfield next year for us.
Fixed it for yaā¦Ethan is a stud.
I like Shull too, but he has a tendency to disappear at times. He was not great in the post-season this year. But I think he will develop into a superstar.
Being an Enidite, Iāve got to watch āGā (Garrett Shull) for the last 6 years or so. The body and talent are there. A switch hitting infielder (3B/SS) that can also play CF is a big win. He can play small ball when needed, but his bat is dangerous when heās on. As it has been mentioned, he has been streaky the last couple of years, but hoping a change of scenery can get him focused.
What was his primary position in HS??

Looks like our new Arkansas transfer OF is starting to come around this summer. Playing on the same team as LaSalle in the Cape.
He played a lot of 3B and CF. Enid had a lot of talent the last two years, so they shuffled around a lot.
Forgot about Jones. If he plays up to his potential our OF could be fine.
Seeing Ethan at the top of that draft prediction in the bullets got me wondering, if he went 1 would that be the first time 2 brothers were both drafted first overall in baseball?
The Mannings did it in football
Donāt know if itās happened in NBA or NHL. There were twins who both went top 10 in NBA this year.
It would be the first time brother ever both went 1-1.
How very OSU this will be.
Father and both sons, all 3 a āwhat ifā for OSU sports.
I did a deep dive into the MLB Draft Signings. Much like we thought, we are getting gutted by the draft. We had eight current players and four recruits get drafted. All but two have signed.
Cowboys Signed:
*Carson Benge (3.997 Million)
*Brian Holiday (800K)
*Zach Ehrhard (500K)
*Sam Garcia (55K) Out of Eligibility, thus the low bonus
*Robert Cranz (190K)
*Tommy Molsky (150K)
*Janzen Keisel (272K) Had entered the portal
Did Not Sign:
*Ryan Ure - Announced he is returning
Recruits Signed:
*Kash Mayfield (3.42 Million)
*Braylon Doughty (2.56 Million)
*Caden Powell (422K)
High School pitcher Noah Wech is still unsigned. The deadline is today at 4PM. He is a Wisconsin kid and was drafted by the Brewers, so we better find some NIL money quickly.
The only player on the list to sign for more than his slot value was Powell. Mayfield and Doughty both signed for full-slot value. I think it shows the strategy of MLB teams now. Draft a bunch of college guys in the top-10 rounds, then get them to sign for under-slot. Throw that extra money at your high school kids in rounds 11-20.
Sure hope Molsky progresses well. I think he would have benefitted more by returning, but obviously itās his ship to sail and Iāll follow him as a fan. At least he didnāt go to the Phillies
