Some people lose it after 40, Shrum aināt one of them. Good for her
Freshmen pitchers are looking pretty good early on!
Did we have any high ranked jucos come in this year or are we all young ?
Not really many Juco guys. Mainly the pitchers that were brought in were from 4-year schools. The kid from Hawaii (Bodendorf), was a highly ranked transfer. Had one from St johns(Pesca) that had good numbers last year. Youngerman might also be fighting for a weekend spot as well, after a good summer league. The GCU kid (Watkins) should be a big piece to the bullpen. I could go on and on, but long story short, we have a lot of arms just need a few of them to work out.
There are also 5-6 Freshmen that look the part, but Kale Davis and Bryce Osmond were also highly ranked guys and they didnt really turn into front line guys. Itās hard to predict what an 18-year-old will turn into.
Hey thanks for the information. I either donāt know where to look , or what , but I appreciate your info !!!
No problem, OSU baseball is my favorite! I spend way too much time researching our incoming guys so if you have any more questions, you can shoot me a message!
Iād take Shrum and Hoyt over any two women in leadership on any other campus. They hold their own.
Iāll do it !! I got spoiled when I got into OSU baseball when Ward was here. Spoiled thdd ed hell outa me.
Josh seems to get guys we need except pitchers staying healthy He needs. to step it up a lot

I love the baseball team twitter admin now
Iām a little surprised that Gabe Davis isnāt on any of those pitching stats. Is he healthy? He had a great summer with Team USA. I was hoping he would continue that into the fall and become our #1 or #2 by the spring.
I believe heās healthy, but I could be wrongā¦ I canāt figure him out. He has one of the best arms weāve had in a long time and looks dominant for stretches. Like you said he was very good for team USA and then he went to play for a summer league team and had an era over 8 in the two games he pitched. With that being said, I wouldnāt be shocked if he was a weekend starter. The Gabe Davis version that threw against Arkansas last year could be a 1st round pick.
Ryan Ure is another pitcher to keep an eye out for. He wasnāt used much last year because he was coming off an injury, but heās a 6 7 lefty that throws upper 90s. The pitching talent is definitely their for OSU, itāll be interesting to see how it all plays out going into the season!
Ure is now two years clear of Tommy John. I really thought he could have been a weapon late last year, but they refused to use him more than an inning at a time. Itās time he stepped up and became a real factor.
