Ok, this is gonna be an unpopular opinion on here I’m sure. But……I can’t stand Ollie Gordon. He’s a VERY GOOD RB. Deserving of the Doak Walker award. Stud.
But……I can’t stand his mouth. His flopping, seems like he’s getting on his teammates butt all the time. Seems like every game he Lebrons around on the field like he’s seriously hurt, only to come back in the game. I can’t stand watching it. When the play is live……great player. When the play is over……can’t stand him
Can’t argue with the criticism of Ollie. Hopefully he matures real soon and learns to stop talking trash to opponents. That can get you injured. Reminds me of AJ Ferrari. Showoff your running game without being a showoff. Observe your teammate Presley. And pray that your O-line improves next season.
I get the premise & don’t disagree. But while Baker was kind of a Dbag, he was also a great teammate. Great locker room guy. Never, ever was he screaming at teammates or coaches. So while I agree about Baker being a guy I’d hate if he didn’t play in Norman, he has been beloved by teammates and fans from OU to Tampa. I’m not questioning Gordon’s standing with his team or coaches. I don’t know how that is. But I know that I’ve seen him on more than a few occasions appear as though he’s being a bit of a diva or flopping like a soccer player. I just don’t like it.
I’m not saying Ollie Gordon is the first or last that’ll do it. I’m not saying no OU player has ever done it. I can’t stand Trey Young. But Ollie Gordon definitely is in the same class as those guys that I can’t stand to watch.
Jackson Arnold is a true freshman, in his first start, with a brand new Oline, a new OC, against a top 15 team in the country. Considering all of that, I thought he played ok. He’s got a cannon. He can run. Showed toughness. He’s extremely talented. So yeah I liked him. Think he’ll be a good player. Going into 2024, QB is not a position I’m worried about
I know you will never see my point. Lol. Well they were 18.
Arnold only got sacked the one time late when he fumbled. I didnt listen to all the game, it seemed the oline did fine. He was holding the ball for 10 seconds at a time.
The one thing i got out of the game was arizona had really bad oline and dline.
7 holding calls against OU. Bunch of new guys on the line with all of OU’s portal and NFL exits. The o-line was a mixed bag. I mean they still ran for 200 yards. OU threw it 45 times. Ran it 34 times. If you flip those two numbers, it cuts down on turnovers and OU probably wins the game.
If Gabriel was QB, OU wins. OU was driving up 24-13 when Zona returned a fumble 85yds for a TD. Now before I get roasted for saying all this “what if” stuff……OU LOST. Deserved to lose. Having said that, I couldn’t care less what happens in non-playoff bowl games. My thoughts would be the same had OU won. With the early signing day, I don’t care what the bowl result is.
The OL for OU was patchwork bunch of guys. Three of em won’t start come Aug. We lost 1 guy to the portal that matters (Cayden Green). Absolute stud who will play in the NFL. Gabriel is very good, but he was never playing a 3rd season at OU. Jackson Arnold showed some flashes of being a very good QB.
Like i said, i only listen to about 10 minutes. The holdinds i got were long plays. The longer the qb holds the ball the more likely a flag.
But yea, should have ran more. The more you run the more the dline gets tired.
I’m thinking that Arizona qb will be a problem in the B12 in the next few years. I actually thought Arizona looked decent. Course 4 ints is a problem
The int for a touchdown was a big hit that popped it up. Arnold did show flashes Runs well, big arm
Yeah I really liked him. Of course you gotta clean up the TO’s, but I expected some of that given the circumstances. The biggest & most glaring problem for OU going into next yr is the Oline. The first unexpected loss for OU in the portal era was Cayden Green. That one really came out of nowhere & absolutely hurts.
We are finding out ou has more money then alot in the big 12 but not the sec. Mizzou is the same type of school as ou but bigger. Big state with basically only them.
