PFB Podcast Ep. 311: Mike Gundy and Coronavirus

Originally published at:

It’s been a very strange week in OSU world.

Me waiting on the comments:

Promoting the testing of oSu players when those with symptoms, those in health care who are treating patients, and essential workers can’t get tested has to be the most tone deaf comment. Can someone tell Gundy there is a testing shortage because that won’t be on OAN.

Can that person also tell the president too?

Look…I love Mike Gundy and what he’s done for Oklahoma State football and the school as a whole. His “perspective” may be best understood by the definition of narcissism. Brief diagnostic definition DSM5 criteria:

A grandiose sense of self-importance (eg, the individual exaggerates achievements and talents and expects to be recognized as superior without commensurate achievements) A preoccupation with fantasies of unlimited success, power, brilliance, beauty, or ideal love.

He looks in the mirror and sees Dabo Swinney with a mullet and camo on.

Your article and podcast were spot on regarding Mike gundy and the thin skin OSU fans have (including myself) about any criticism others may have of our own.

Power is an interesting thing and you all characterized it correctly that if humbled or unchecked can become a dangerous things. He is neither humble nor apparently unchecked.

Keep up the good journalism and fun of your columns and podcasts. They are read and enjoyed. It’s obvious by the response you get.
