I liked listening to this podcast. Carson’s father references the 1984 game and the missed call on the punt. Here is the vid. Pick up at 39:35. The issue was back at this time, the 2-yard “halo” rule was in effect to protect the return man. Clearly, OU was closer than that causing the muff right in front of the official. The halo rule was lifted in Feb 2003.
