Can’t recommend it enough. I would go back immediately. Good food, beautiful scenery. Not too expensive, but I have been told it is getting more expensive there
I definitely want to try Ireland and Bulgaria, but Prague (since we didn’t visit any other parts of Czechia) and the Normandy region were very memorable for us.
You need to put Budapest and Vienna on your list as well.
God willing we’re hopefully headed to Austria and Switzerland next year so Vienna may just be included in there.
Vienna is incredible. We were there for Easter. Went to the symphony’s Easter concert and to the Easter Market. I’d love to go back. Hard to describe how different and beautiful the place is. We went from there to Innsbruck, which was also incredible.
We have done the Viking Christmas Market cruise the last two years - first from Basel, Switzerland to Amsterdam, and then Regensburg, Germany to Budapest. (Pre extension in Prague, Post in Budapest)
My wife did her semester abroad in Vienna many moons ago. We visited where she lived and went to school. Delightful.
First two were from hotel room in Lucerne and third from Innsbruck. Never seen anything like either place.
@OSUgradndad85 Switzerland is on another level. Blown away by the views
We are hitting up Switzerland next year! Staying in the Lauterbrunnen Valley area for most of the trip.
Yes, beautiful. Our pre-extension was in Lucerne.
I’ll drink to that !!!
That looks beautiful. We’ll be in Zermatt and Lucerne for a couple of days each so I suppose that’s as close as we’ll be, but we’re still organizing.
Caught a king. Watched a deep blue glacier calve. Saw incredible sights. Came back to port and saw the score. Good day yesterday.
That second picture looks amazing
Did an Alaska cruise last year but it was a last minute booking (price was a steal) but that meant all the good excursions were sold out. Hoping to go back soon and will be following your pics as my guide of what to do haha.
Let me know and I can give you some tips. My wife is originally from Alaska. We stayed with her dad in Fairbanks and headed to Kenai today to meet her aunt for lunch. Then on to Homer.
It felt like we were in a cold weather Avatar movie. Otherworldly.
I’ll take you up on that: where, what guide, and what lodging? Like to take my son up there.
