Sounds like a really fun trip. I think the Lahaina rebuild area of the island is progressing well, but there may still be some alternate routes required.
Download the app: GuideAlong | GPS Audio Tours. Your kids will think you are a nerd, but the app does history and information about the area as you drive along. It is great for the Road to Hana because it will tell you what stops to skip because they aren’t very great. It’s not just for Hawaii either. We used it in Northern California too.
Late December and January are prime time for Whale watching off the south coast of Maui. Take a whale watching boat excursion out of Lahaina and the kiddos will have a memory for lifetime.
Maybe not considered “real” travel, but has anyone been to the Huckleberry Festival in Jay, OK?
Was introduced to Huckleberries in Idaho and have picked them off of the trail side in Montanana. My life is forever changed.
No but interested
Same. With a huckleberry milkshake. Didn’t know they grow in Oklahoma.
Supposedly happens around July 4th. Me and Misses RR will have to check it out and report back.
Discovered those in preserves on a trip through Wyoming and Montana a couple of years ago. I’m a believer:
Heading up to Manhattan for the first time this season for the the K-state game. I’m looking for 6 tickets if anyone has some available.
What are some “Must Do” thing around Charlotte, NC?
City kind of sucks besides typical eatery stuff. Head to the mountains about 1-2 hours east.
I’m late replying to this but I agree with @EquipmentGuy - Croatia is great. I was Croatia in March 2024 for business. Would have loved to have had more time for pleasure. Everything was cheap compared to other popular destinations (London, Paris, Rome, etc.), basically all spoke English, folks were friendly, beautiful scenery, etc. Definitely a trip where I would recommend driving though as Ubers and taxis were rather slim even in Zagreb.
Planning on hiking at Grandfather Mountain State Park.
You’ll love it. Check out Boone/Blowing Rock and spend time on the Blue Ridge Parkway.
We were just there at the beginning of August. It is beautiful!
Very nice Chimp, very nice.
Kinda wondering if anybody is related to someone who was a part of the Old Hickory division.
I’m in Memphis today. Way to run from me
I was in Memphis yesterday - PFB party at the empty @TheHeadChimp house
