Didn’t know Bo was a lock to PSU. Has it been that way for long? Losing Lilledhal, Blaze, Bo all to them will suck. On top they have Mesenbrick, Mirasola brothers, Barr. No way others touch them in Championship for 4 more years.
Edit: That willl mean we lose younger Bassett too.

If it makes you feel any better there’s a regular poster on 34 and counting who’s saying that he doesn’t think Bo goes to PSU🤷

I would venture to say there are probably few that know if Bo knows and posting is speculation. So we will have to wait to see.

I guess it’s not fair to say lock. My bad. He has been PSU’s to lose this whole time. I think everyone believes he still picks them, but I am pleased that we are giving it a good shot.
I also say lock, so that when he doesn’t commit to us I’m not as disappointed haha

How does the Cliff Keen Invitational work? I’ve tried to research it and can’t figure it out.
Seems like it’s a team tournament, but still individual format like the national championship, right? In other words, not a team v team dual tournament - if such a thing even exists.
Also, looks like either we or Nebraska are the highest ranked teams - would be cool to win it.
It’s pretty much much what you described. It’s a team tournament but individual brackets for each weight. It’s a very high profile tournament and is considered a good practice tournament for NCAAs.

It is a team tournament with individual brackets and each wrestler gets points for win and advancing with bonus points for pin, tech fall or major decision.
Similar to conference and NCAA tournaments. One wrestler per team per weight.

Yes-I think seeds are based on rankings and not coaches meeting. But not sure which rankings they use. This should be a good tournament and test for us.

Is it concerning that even with iowa and psu not competing, we only have 1 top pre seed?

Idk if I would say concerning, but yes I wish it was better. Still good shot for the team title which is what matters considering this is the toughest tournament.

Idk the last time either went. PSU did the scuffle for a few years then last few years have done the army invitational and the all star duals or some similar event.
