Recapping the Cowboys’ loss in Lawrence.

I don’t have the traditional platforms of social media so I’m posting here in hopes this question finds its way to Colby and Carson.

I’m curious why we’re not hearing the names of more assistants besides Colin Klein. I would be pumped to get Klein but I think assistants like Will Stein and Andy Kotelnicki also have a lot to offer. Carson said in this episode that Chad wants a young coach that knows NIL. Both of these guys come from jobs that do NIL well, have or have had great offenses, are great recruiters, and have experience in the Big 12 (Stein: Texas 2015-2017). Did I miss something that Chad only wants a HC or are these guys are already connected to another job? I worry we’re overlooking great candidates just to get a guy with HC by the name.

(For Stein I know the argument will be made that we don’t have Phil Knight. I agree but at this point we just need a HC that knows NIL. The point could be made since the start of NIL we haven’t had a head football coach that knows how to [or wants to] do it.)

If this article is accurate, then we have major problem on our hands.

Don’t have access to the paid article but I doubt it takes into account the fact that Gundy pissed off all the donors and didn’t do any fund raising. Carson said on the podcast Lutz raised more funds than Gundy. Which is just sad.

It was based on 24/7 Sports article that was behind a paywall.

That’s unfortunate because I would like to see where they got their numbers from.

Regardless of the accuracy, it’s not a good to have stuff like out there that can used against the university.

Players, coaches and recruits dont pay attention to stuff like that. Those NIL questions would be answered pretty quickly. I dont KNOW the actual NIL numbers. But I do know that OSU was very active in offering some competitive packages to recruits during this cycle. Again, im not claiming that I KNOW for a fact here, this is just a very educated opinion. But OSU isnt going to be ahead of LSU, Florida, Auburn, Penn St as it pertains to NIL stuff. It can be/is on par with Arkansas, VaTech. It should be ahead of Stanford and UCLA, even though those two are both making commitments to get into the NIL game as well. I wouldnt pay much attention to this article. OSU is in the middle of an 0-18 and have no HC. The boosters will get involved enough to keep them in the game.
