I’m not saying no game is big. Every game is big, but painting this picture that we play a Texas program equivalent to what they did in 2005 or 2009 when they’re really just an average program right now isn’t the same. You know it, I know it, and everyone on this forum knows it. Beating a top ten team is big. Beating a team that’s 5-7 or 6-6 doesn’t carry as much weight. Even if they’re a BB.
Why do you think so many people across the country made fun of ND for the longest time before Brian Kelly went there? It’s because they were becoming a joke and losing to G5 teams. People view Texas in the same light currently. Until Texas starts winning conference titles, NY6 bowls, or even making the CFP that program will still be viewed that way nationwide. Just another 8-5 team. That’s not being delusional. That’s the reality. The delusional ones are the people thinking beating a Texas program that can barely make bowl games deserves some kind of nationwide recognition.
We beat top 10 teams in ‘21 and years before you dunce Now you’re just rattling your mouth to try and make someone think you know football… Gheez man get a grip , you only acknowledge a bad loss, here’s news , everyone has them
Texas isn’t relevant, but they still picked them to win the B12 this year, right joy ? Stop rehashing old worn out chit you repeat everyday. You are a complete moron when it comes to understanding football, no sense at all.
Are you just like your twin? Do you not read anything I post, and immediately hit the reply button? And why do I care if Texas is picked to win the Big 12? I hold Texas to the same standard as Gundy and OSU. That standard btw is “I’ll believe you once I see you do it”.
My bet is simple. $100 each game that we win the ASU, UCF, UH. You pay me $100 each when we win, I pay you $100 for each Loss.
Or were you trying to do something else?
2 games? We’ve got 3 games on our slate. I’m too simple to keep up so please help me understand what you’re signing up for. Here is what I thought we were betting on:
ASU - $100 bet, @bill18 betting OSU loses, @ot1 betting OSU wins
UCF - $100 bet, @bill18 betting OSU loses, @ot1 betting OSU wins
Houston - $100 bet, @bill18 betting OSU loses, @ot1 betting OSU wins
So as examples:
if ASU beats OSU, then @ot1 pays @bill18 $100
if OSU beats UCF, then @bill18 pays @ot1 $100
if Houston beats OSU, then @ot1 pays @bill18 $100
Let’s get this clarified as wouldn’t want money to come between friends.
So to simplify this thing. Let’s keep ASU as our one and only bet here. I think we’ll find a way to stink it up out there. I think we lose on the road later down the line to UCF and Houston, but we’ll keep the bet at $100 with ASU.
The way I see it, is if we can lose at home to Central Michigan with one of Gundy’s better teams. Then there’s always the possibility of losing on the road to a P5 program.
That’s one way to look at it.
I would look at it as that Central Michigan team would mop the floor with this ASU team.
New coaching staff, 11 new players starting, Fr QB, NCAA sanctions looming. Bet you and the Sour Patch kids would be predicting “dumpster fire” if that described our Cowboys team, right?
That Central Michigan team that you mention had an NFL caliber QB. I’d say that they were a bit better than you’d like to admit. Also we really didn’t lose. The refs threw the rule book in the trash and that is how CM ‘Officially’ won that game.
Really Bruce? Who did we have in 2016? Here ya go:
Mason Rudolph- 3rd round pick
James Washington- 2nd round pick
Chris Carson- 7th round pick
Justice Hill- 4th round pick
Trey Flowers- 5th round pick
Vincent Taylor- 6th round pick
Marvell Ateman- 7th round pick
Jordan Brailford- 7th round pick
(2017-2019 draft picks)
Then you have Central Michigan with three total draft picks in the same time frame. Cooper Rush was a UDFA btw. Guess you didn’t pay much attention to the transfer portal this season. ASU did very well.
Dude just saying that Cooper Rush was the real deal and your not giving CM credit. It is common knowledge that a good QB can take a team a long way. Not saying that we should have let CM stay close to us in that game we shouldn’t have for sure. But it is why the games are played because the human factor exists and sometimes it trumps how things appear on paper. Good teams get beat by lesser teams all the time so stop acting like it is something unique to OSU. Also as stated earlier we didn’t lose to CM so there is that too.
Well since the CC game didn’t start until ‘14 or ‘15 and the goons occupied one slot the majority of the time , there’wasn’t much room to slide in there jug. One time in eight years isn’t totally bad. You talk about going from 0-10-1 to now you don’t see the jump we’ve made ? You don’t automatically go from the bottom to a BB you moron. Get off the i Hate Gundy wagon a little. I’m sure you will be with your friends cussing Gundy this weekend
When Michigan can lose to Appalachian St in football at HOME no less that means anyone is capable of beating anyone on any given Saturday joy …. Get a grip
I’m glad you agree Mike. However, I would venture to say ASU and OSU are most likely equal to each other, talent and coaching wise, compared to a game that was played 17 years ago between a BB and and FCS school. Glad you really thought that one through.
