Gundy talks quarterbacks, The Boys From Oklahoma and more.
If all the quarterbacks are “playing good” that means none of them are anything but average. If you can’t settle on a quarterback, you don’t have a quarterback. Are all four QBs going to get 15 snaps apiece? I am really scared that this thing will go into the Oregon game and still not have a starter.
I am one of the few left that believes Gundy can still do this, if he really wants. ( am i wrong? )
Having spent time trying to field a competatitive Football team a coach in the INFC, there are scheduled times where the team is blown apart to maintain competative landscape. ( 2 sons, 11 years total volunteering youth. ) and re-draft.
I very much understand why Scrimmage and pre- competition matches are shceduled.
It helps literally everyone to see what your product looks like on the field, even if the on looker see’s the individual struggles and bore from the formats.
The most impressive hit I’ve ever seen in my time as a fan and facilitator, came during a scrimmage at Bixby for our 2nd graders. The crowd erupted when young sir blocked another right out of his cleats, it was Epic.
You dont get those moments without those prep games and formats.
Both teams learned a lot about their specific players that and the other days as well.
Wish OK St could get another team to come do the dang thing with em though.
Maybe next year.
Do what? Are we talking about winning the conference? Or maybe he really hasn’t wanted to the last 14 years.
Or are we talking about insulting the fan base about not paying their bills. Or maybe hiring unknown unqualified coaches that take 3 years to compete.
Oh you’re wrong! There’s definitely more than a FEW of you.
Here’s reality: if Gundy announces Sunday that any one of the four has earned the starter’s role, he will probably lose the other 3 to the portal.
It’s possible it may become evident who the starter is without Gundy saying as much. In that case, again, there’s the potential of losing 1, 2 or 3 QBs.
That he can successfully coach at OSU. Whatever that looks like.
I get it. One conference title in 20 years.
I like the glass half full but……it’s definitely empty.
