I canā€™t believe John said ā€œif they fall asleep and miss lunch they could lose 15 lbsā€ He obviously was trolling the interviewer. I found that to be quite humorous.

You left off the part of the sentence about ā€˜and show up for practiceā€™. Like Surber said, thats the scenario where he could lose 15 pounds.
