The rain was the least of OSU’s worries.

Anyone else on here noticed that our Gundy fans have been fairly quiet since September 14th?

Not one word from Gundy, I’m responsible…, vs PSU’s Franklin after another big loss: ‘I own it all’

This is all one needs to understand, zero accountability!!!

This is what happens when the administration approves what essentially is an “evergreen” contract and therefore doesn’t have the ability or the onions to hold him accountable.

Too bad very few saw Maealiuaki play. I know I didn’t. Turned it to watch something else early in the 3rd quarter.

After Gundy telling us for two weeks he wasn’t ready to play ???
Don’t know what to believe from this guy anymore.
Wasn’t he the guy who promised transparency when he was hired?

Sadly, accountability from either the AD or from Gundy died with Mr. Pickens. He would not have tolerated this and would have made that clear. I’ve been a Gundy supporter, but it’s been pretty obvious for a few years that it’s time for him to hang it up.

Mike Holder’s retirement as well.

Yeah, exactly. Said the same thing about a RS freshman QB, i.e. Flores, who had a lot more time to learn the offense than Smith. Maybe the stress is getting to him or his ego is so huge he thinks he can lie and we won’t catch any of them, lol.

Exactly! T. Boone was not a huge believer, heard that from a close friend who got to visit his ranch in Texas a few times who said T. Boone was not a huge believer.

And this from Dabo Swinney after only a second loss.

It hurts. It’s a missed opportunity. Huge missed opportunity," Swinney said. "We didn’t deserve to win. They absolutely deserved to win, we did not. So, we gotta give them all the credit. We looked like a very poorly coached team tonight and that’s on me. Simple as that. Just incredibly disappointed with our performance tonight.

Man. If Gundy falls on his sword, it’s “I’m tired of hearing this every week”. If he doesn’t, it’s “he needs accountability”. I get that this season sucks, but I don’t really care about what a coach says or doesn’t say unless it’s just completely beyond the pale.

Also, it’s not like Holder or Boone did anything. Gundy had a good relationship with Boone at first. Then he wouldn’t kiss Boone’s butt and Boone wouldn’t kiss Gundy’s butt and Holder was the mediator. Holder caved to anything Gundy wanted, so it’s not like he was keeping anyone in check. He was too busy playing tough guy with our best basketball coach.

That said, clamoring to fire Gundy is silly, even though it’s an all-time disappointing season. He should be hot-seated, and we’ll see what the offseason holds. If he doesn’t make coaching changes, then the coordinators better make some huge leaps.

0-6 in the conference :+1:.

That fine. How do you feel about getting rid of Dunn or Nardo then? Are you going to clamor to hold Gundy accountable if neither one is gone? Because it’s obvious something needs to change on both sides of the ball. Neither of these coordinators are making huge leaps.

Nardo’s defense hasn’t improved at all. In fact, it gets worse as the season progresses. Dunn has been here five seasons and has had one top 50 offense. What else do you want to see? Are you wanting to see if we’ll be last in the conference again before making changes?

Can you give a single example of the the fans on this forum stating “I’m tired of hearing this every week” in regards to Gundy taking accountability? I’ve made the statement in regards to him “Coming in early on Sunday”. I’m tired of hearing about us “not filling gaps”. He’d have to actually show or state some level of accountability, which he hasn’t before anyone can get tired of hearing it.

I’ve seen it said. Not going to dig for it. Believe it or don’t. Do not care.

Hey champ,

Do not talk to me if you can’t finish reading my comment. I’m not tl;dring it for you.

Agree with you on this. I don’t care what Gundy is, says or does. Whatever traits he has has carried him through a career both good times and bad. I only care that things get fixed and I’m holding more people than just Gundy accountable for what happens going forward.

I did read your entire comment. You obviously didn’t pay attention to anything I said. You said if he doesn’t make coaching changes, that the coordinators need to make leaps and bounds. I’ve given you ample evidence (so far) that neither of those will happen with Dunn or Nardo on the staff.

You can’t wait until the season is halfway over and you’re out of contention for the conference to start doing your job. If Dunn hasn’t done it in these last three years. Then what makes you think he’s going to start now?

I honestly think both should be gone. Nardo’s defense gets worse while he loses commitments on the recruiting trail. Dunn hasn’t had any creativity for five seasons, and can’t even be a top 50 offense. Again, what else would you like to see before seeing that we realistically need a change of at least one of these positions?

Any sane fan or reasonable person with expectations wouldn’t suggest holding onto one of these guys after a 3-6 start, 0-6 in conference, and that’s with returning the most starters in the conference. Let alone both of these clowns. I don’t know why it’s so hard for you to admit you’ve been in denial since September 14th?

Perhaps so, but Boone is the entire reason why Gundy was hired in the first place. He insisted that Les Miles hire him on staff and then pushed him to take over.

It’s completely asinine to think that there will “leaps and bounds” made with either coordinator. Dunn has had five years and can’t field a top 50 offense. Even with every starter returning and the Doak Walker Award winning RB, he can’t call a game where the team can rush for 100 yards.

While I have much less dislike for Nardo than Dunn, he never should have been hired in the first place. He is in over his head and his defense is not improving. Much of it is because of personnel, but that’s the coordinator’s responsibility. In this day and age, it doesn’t take 3-4 years to recruit and develop players in order to show improvement. It can and should be done overnight. He’s obviously not capable.

Ultimately, though, it all goes back to the man at the top. You’ve seen other programs make changes midseason. Gundy won’t. After 2022, he should’ve replaced Dunn, but out of stubbornness because a reporter dared to ask about it, he kept him on. It’s time for Gundy to move on. He should go out while most fans still have positive feelings about him and if he can’t see that’s best for him and the university, then Chad and Dr. Strum need to give him the proper encouragement to do so.
