It’s not as big as you might think … yet.
Instead of a luxury tax similar to baseball, I would take a page from the NFL and institute a hard cap on how much a university can spend of its football program in terms of yearly expenses (salaries, recruiting, etc.).
Didn’t we essentially give our 3rd tier rights away for nothing?
You would probably need to institute a standardized accounting system and require the private schools to adopt it too.
