Women’s basketball players are significantly cheaper than MBB players and football, so probably lots of schools could do this if they wanted to go spend high market value for top players (although, if everyone wanted, it would drive up the demand and money). I guess the question is who is infusing money specifically into women’s basketball and made it a priority? Is it even a good idea? It’ll be “cool” if we make a run or win a title, but will it actually move the needle for the university commiserate with the cost? Women’s sports lose money. It’s why there aren’t a lot of resources invested there.
I’ll enjoy it for what it is.
If Hoyt gets these studs to play good team defense it’s gonna be awesome. The scoring is all there.
