Are we headed for a Big 12/Pac-12 Death Match?
These 4 wont make any money for us.
Go get those 4 then see what happens with Oregon and Washington, if you can get those as well go to 18. Like it or not this is the way it’s moving so get out ahead of it and do what you can to survive.
First of all, Colorado brings nothing to the table but a good cross-country program. They need the Big 12 but we do not need them, nor should we want them based on their lackluster football and basketball programs.
Oregon and Washington will be highly sought after and therefore will not be interested in the Big 12. ASU and Arizona at times have been pretty good in football but never great. We know in the past Arizona has had some good basketball teams under Lute Olsen. So I think ASU offers us nothing but a wrestling program that is getting better lately. Stanford will not join the Big 12 because of their academic superiority being the number one university in the nation. They end up in the Big 10 because of their academic snob appeal. The whole world is in the beginning of a chaotic cycle, and so is college sports. Super-size conferences and play for pay college athletes. That’s as bad as it can get. Colorado? You have to be kidding!
Lipstick on a pig.
SEC is rumored to go after Clemson, Florida State and Miami next.
Big 10 is looking at ND, and should look at Stanford, Oregon and Washington. Both will be at 20 schools soon enough.
Big 12 should look at the 4 PAC 12 mentioned and then look at the ACC. UNC and Duke? Bring back WV and Pittsburgh rivalry? They wanted Louisville once before, why not again? Big 12 could be an amazing basketball conference and become that 3rd to the SEC and Big 10.
Saw a report where the Big Ten supposedly wants to add North Carolina, Notre Dame, Oregon, and Stanford.
If that’s true, then I would swap Colorado for Washington.
Washington, Stanford and Oregon are the only ones left from the PAC 12 that really can move the needle. If you arent getting those guys, youre just putting tape on the Titanic.
Everybody needs to look at the big 10 in 1 of there expansion. They add maryland and Rutgers think it would get millions of new eyes. Those tv brought nothing.
I would add Colorado cal and the 2 az schools for wins not tv. The big 12 would boost there numbers but not the big 12. When we played osu it was like their top 2 or 3 game. But it was like our 2nd to last. I think numbers would boost for a couple of years. The something new. Or, hey we mite beat the big 12 teams.
We cant just expand with out value. If we go to 16 we need a team in the east to balance the pods out. And gives a balanced tv time slots. We could have 2 games in each time slot. We want to stay away from espn plus.
Osu tv numbers will take a massive hit. Losing ou and texas. Were talking 5 million plus each year.
Why don’t we just add Tulsa, Missouri State and Central Michigan? That seems to be the caliber of team Gundy wants to play.
I dnt want to add 3 of these teams. You go off on some tantrum.
Anyway we dnt need to add them to conference we play them in non con.
How about Pittsburgh, Oregon State and oh wait, we haven’t played another power 5 team since 2014.
Id assume that Gundy wants OSU to stay right where they are, as far as Conf affiliation goes. You have to think that the OSU leadership knows they have to get into a better Conf. Id be curious to be a fly on the wall and see Gundy’s reaction when it happens.
If we go to the big 10 or sec Gundy will lose his bowl every year record.
I dnt even know what that means. If the schedule of pitt was last year it was the best acc had. We have been going thur the pac 12. We will or have played Oregon az asu and osu.
It still goes back to you never know how good a team will be.
We have or will schedule georgia Alabama and Arkansas.
Your just an idiot.
When do we play Alabama? To much of a coward to schedule a blueblood once in the last 7 years.
If we get into the sec it would help recruiting by 5 or 10 spots. Still would be well behind 4 or 5 teams. Us going to the sec would be for money only. We would be like all the other second tier teams. Hope for a good enough run.
Mizz, got a division msu and old miss were a game away.
If you just want more money ok. It has nothing to do with gundy. All these other school have gone thur ton of coaches are they closer.
Yea i forgot who i was talking to. You may not see that game. We still have ark, neb, and Oregon till then
Memphis and Louisville would be a nice start . Good football, great basketball as well as proximity and desirable
Time slots .
Utah is the only one of those that I would like to see in the conference, but ASU is intriguing. UCF is the largest university in the US and ASU is the 8th largest. They may not have amazing programs but ASU is a huge school. At some point those massive enrollments have to turn into TV ratings and donor dollars, right?
