I’d like a clear video of this being said because when I was watching the game last night I heard the students chanting something so I turned it up and I didn’t hear the words “Fvck the” being said before Mormons. I couldn’t really tell what was said but as a F word enthusiast it didn’t sound like it to me.
Being one of the members of the church that sponsors BYU, The “F” thing irritates me. If students chanted “refs a Mormon” that would make me chuckle a little. When I was watching the game, I thought I heard lets go Mormons or something like that, like some sarcastic take on all this but I couldn’t be sure. I would hope that OSU fans are classier than to go that low.

“Ref’s a Mormon” would actually be kind of humorous in response to a bad call. I really hope that’s what it was!

It would be easy to just ignore this, but I appreciate the PFB team acknowledging this story!
Maybe I have orange glasses on, but I find it hard to believe that “F the Mormons” would come from the student section at all and if it did, not get shut down in a hurry. That’s just not the OSU I know and love.

Yeah there are only a handful of fanbases around the country that I could see this being a thing and Stillwater isnt one of them. Lubbock? Yep. Baton Rouge? Yep.
Having said that, Chanting “Refs a Mormon” sounds waaaaay too close to “F the Mormons”. For the sake of sounding like an ignorant clown, may wanna stay away from that one. This is also coming from 40yr old me talking to 20yr old me.

I understand this is an OSU board and therefore the common thread is that OU sucks in everything imaginable. But while I wouldnt rule anything out at any program, NO…I dont see this being chanted by a fanbase in Norman or Stillwater

Yeah, that’s not classy at all!
For what it’s worth, I’m texting with a buddy who was at the game last night, and he also says they were chanting “ref’s a Mormon”.
Again, I hope that’s the case!
…the “b… s…t…” chant was heard by me in the ISU match and it was offense to all around….suspension should be considered…………..shame, shame
I re watched the game on FS1. At the 5:20 left in the 2nd half there is a foul on OSU. The announcers are talking but you can hear a chant in the background. My wife hadn’t heard the story yet so I had her come in and asked what she heard (blind ears). She first said. “Something Mormons”. I asked what was said before. We replayed prob 10 times until she finally said “Refs a Mormon??” Not saying something else wasn’t said elsewhere in the game but “refs a Mormon” was definitely said at that point.
