Breakdowns of the five most-talked-about candidates.
So likely 4 of 5 will still be coaching after this weekend. I’m not counting Golesh, because they are extremely unlikely to reach the playoff and I would think he would jet the program before its bowl game.
We could see 2 coaches make the playoff and leave before they play…..Morris and Kiffin. What a strange world, where you attain the ultimate chance and leave before the games.
I like Morris. Is he rumored anywhere else? Are Penn St, LSU or Florida remotely interested? I realize the latter 2 are waiting for Kiffin lottery.
I think this is coming down to Arkansas and OSU fighting over Golesh and Morris. One becomes a Hawg, the other becomes a Poke. I’m starting to ever so slightly believe we’re getting Morris and they’re getting Golesh. His wife is an Arkansan and travels there very often.
I will be excited about any of these five. That said, my preference:

- Morris
- Golesh
- Wommack

Prime example of a guy not striking when the iron was hot. He wants out and rather than taking the best gig he couldve had at the time, he waited and now hes going to have to win against people that have far more advantages than he does
Don’t even know why he would leave at this point. Get the statue built at ISU and ride it out there. They love him in Ames.
TCU loved Patterson.
OSU loved Gundy.
KState loved Kliemann.
Everybody’s time comes.
I can guarantee you ISU will love Campbell far longer than Arky will. He’d be gone in 5 years there.
OU loved Riley
OU loved Bob Stoops. And still does. OU loved Switzer. And still does. Riley wasnt there long enough to gain that status. There was always a faction of the fanbase that was leery of him due to being a Air Raid guy.
Well, first off, I dont think Campbell is going to Arkansas. I dont disagree on the being gone in 5 years. I think hes a really good coach, but hes similar to Venables at OU in that he wants to build a foundation. He is going to need Arkansas to be patient…and they arent doing that
It’s funny how you change things when it comes to OU. Kileman is in his 7th year at Kansas St. Riley was also was at OU 7 years when you include OC duties. I never heard Sooner fans complaining when they were winning B12 titles and Heismans. Why were so many Sooners upset when he left….?
