Chad Weiberg Says Morris 'Burning the Midnight Oil' as He Pulls Double Duty Between OSU and UNT

‘He’s working two jobs.’

As a young man who recently had heart issues (Chad), I hope he’s encouraging Morris to pace himself! This thing isn’t getting fixed overnight.

With the portal things can change quickly. The first goal is to get competitive again. I don’t care if that is 5-7 his first year. If we are challenging to win the games in the fourth quarter then we are back on track. I think his second year we need to bowl eligible at minimum and probably better.

OSU will win 7-8 games next year. The shot in the arm that Morris will add initially will be enough. This program will be rebound much quicker with the NIL backing that its going to get. The troops are rallied in the Booster World. I can attest to seeing some of it firsthand

After the dumpster fire of the last two years, I’m leaning with @chris5. Just show that the program is turning around year one and that brighter days are ahead.

Of course, I’d be over the moon if @KetchupSicle prediction of 7-8 wins comes true lol.

The world of college football consists of “Haves” and “Have nots”. OSU will be a “have” within the Big 12. They wont be on par with Tech or BYU, but they wont be out spent by anyone else in the Conf. Thats where a team has to be in order to make this thing work.

And that’s all I can ask for.

Surely there are enough kids on the team with 2 or 3 years experience that have that mental toughness and expectation to win, and who can maintain a core of toughness and expectations to win.

Mix that with enough of the best North Texas players and top portal players, that could right the ship pretty fast - not predicting 10 wins but competitive and with the mental toughness to fight to the end. If oSu could land a difference making receiver (go after one of the Ohio St. or Georgia WRs) and TE, some solid additions for the DL, S, LB, and corner, and of course the OL, get them into the weight room and playbook over the summer, it could be a pleasant surprise.

One concern is DC - Morris’ guy has ties to Bob Simmons’ DC but Coach Simmons had a defensive background and brought in solid players like Kevin Williams etc. Another concern is emphasis on Special Teams. Hope to retain Coaches Snyder and Tonga for recruiting.

Giddyup…

I said OSU wins 7 or 8 games next season, so im a fan of the hire. But this “go after one of the Ohio St. or Georgia WRs”…is crazy talk. That is not happening.
