Chuba Hubbard's Heisman Hopes All But Dead After OU's Bedlam Beatdown

Hubbard’s fall from the Heisman ranks came on the big stage.

Uninspired play calling (especially on our 4th down “go for it” attempts) and not adjusting our routes to take advantage of what OU’s defense was givinng us all added up to the usual lack luster OU game that we saw tonight. If your receivers and OL cannot pressure their safeties, then they will drop down to load the box and stop your ground game. Not hard to figure that out. Gundy said as much. So why didn’t they make some adjustments in the play calling and routes?

I’ve said it many times, we apparently have a 1-slant-route-per-game limit. Even on the one that Stoner ran there was obvious pass interference which wasn’t called. The stupid call on 4th down where we threw to the short side sideline, there was NO ONE running across the middle, left to right and it was wide stinkin’ open.
