I love Zach Robinson as a person, met him several times. I love that he studied under McVay. I am not sold on him as a OSU’s next HC though. His time with Atlanta has been so bizarre with injuries and draft conflict that its hard to get a gauge on if he is even really good at being an OC. The concepts seem fun but the execution has been sloppy to just bad at times (last Sunday for instance). Golesh is already a HC and doing less with more in terms of recruits (sound familiar?) and would be the much safer play while still bringing tremendous upside and promise to the future of OKST Football.

Time to give Art Briles a call. A man that knows what it feels like to win the conference more than once.

honestly anyone except ZRob or Knowles. hoping for someone younger with an energy similar to Lions HC Dan Campbell.

Crazy no mention of Josh Henson. Players respect him and has a creative offensive playbook

I hope all you on line boo birds are happy now. You got your wish. The Regents who hated Gundy couldn’t even wait til the end of the season as if that’s going to make a difference. Couldn’t give him the chance to pull another rabbit out of the hat like 2014. Odds were against him but now no chance at all. Gundy beat Tulsa 7 times and no losses til now. We’ve lost our unique definition of ā€˜Familyā€. We are going to be just like all the other struggling wannabes. No matter who it is, we will be mediocre at best and that’s in three years and if we happen to win, it’ll be a stepping stone job for whomever the not Loyal and True Coach that it will be. It’s a crap shoot at best. Good luck finding a winning Coach!

Gundy didn’t lose to a bad G5 team at home in 2014. He also didn’t pull a rabbit out of a hat in 2014. It was a rare stupid moment by Bob Stoops that helped Gundy in 2014. Also, Gundy went 3-9 in 2024 when returning 19 starters. The odds were extremely in his favor last season.

Would you rather win and be used as a stepping stone job? Or keep the same guys that obviously failed to adapt and get worse?

Coach Gundy built a winning culture, and interestingly, it’s his success that has contributed to the situation for which he currently finds himself. He can still go out gracefully and respected. The choice is his.

What does that mean to you?

You make it sound like Gundy was imprisoned and forced to work for free for 21 years while delivering 21 national championships only to be stabbed in the back by a blood thirsty Board of Regents.

He worked for 21 years, was paid over $60 million, won 1 conference championship and was fired after going on a historically bad losing streak.

This isn’t a melodrama, it’s a business with billions predicated on results.

I feel he earned the right to be given a full season. Also, everyone complaining about Gundy over the years has their right, but until the fan base starts realizing this is a new era of football and starts making serious donations, we can’t blame Gundy for not adjusting to the times.

The money is there. Chad’s quote from today:

ā€œWhat I am extremely comfortable of is that we are resourced at the level that we need to be resourced at,ā€ Weiberg said. ā€œThis is not an inexpensive football team that we have on the field this season. I feel really good about the investment that we have made here. I feel great about the support that we have here. …

ā€œI go back to we aren’t lacking for support. I know there are people who think that we are. But this is not the 1980s OSU. We have come a long, long way from then. I would invite any of you to see how many other schools have 123 suites in the football stadium.ā€

Either Gundy or Chad is lying. I tend to think it’s Chad. Here’s why: He mentioned the 123 suites that are sold out, which is great, but does nothing for NIL. That was Gundy’s complaint.

I also think Chad is naive to think donations won’t go up now that Gundy is gone. The base is ready for a clean slate. If Chad crushes this hire (and by crushes it: I mean somewhere in-between David Taylor and Jayce Hoyt), he’s gonna see donations go way up. I would advise him not to jack up ticket prices again until we see results from the new coach.

I doubt we will see a large amount of money come in since Gundy is gone. Talk is what a lot of them. do, but when it comes chow time there will always be an excuse. If I hated a coach so bad at my school that I hoped they lose I’m not a very good alum

I said last year that if Gundy didn’t perform better with this team he’s gone. I didn’t think this quick but I’ll be dam if they aren’t worse

I’m sure you’ll be wrong just like nearly every time before this.

What the hell are you talking about? An 0-9 conference record last season. An historic loss to Oregon and Tulsa all in the same season. A coach telling you for the last 365+ days in his post-game pressers that ā€œhe got outcoachedā€. Exactly what else would it take for you to be convinced that he’s a major part of the recent problem? Does he need to be worse than the Kansas of old?

What the hell is wrong with you ?? Do you just troll every post on here to run your mouth. I don’t give a chit what your opinion is on anything OSU A troll Is just that, so whatever you said means nothing to me. You know nothing about the culture of the school, you never went to school here. But something is wrong in your head to run your mouth at everything anyone says. Don’t comment to me , I don’t like you , I could care less what you say I’m surprised you don’t run around with black eyes all the time

From your perspective returning to the early 90’s in football seems to be acceptable culture.
