The five-man lineup the Cowboys used for the past two NCAA Championships could all return next season, as none are seniors. — I can’t see it, someone if not more than one will turn pro. Nothing to be ashamed about, they were in the hunt for another natty, not an easy thing to accomplish.

One (rabid) fan’s review of OSU men’s golf 2025-26:
- Preston Stout was a stud! He had high expectations going into this season and he easily exceeded those expectations. I believe he’ll come back for his senior year, even though it’s feasible he could go professional. FWIW, in watching him play the last couple of days, Stout, as good as he is, is VERY deliberate over the ball. You want to be careful about changing anything when you are as good as he is, but he is going to get castigated on the tour for his slow play. Grade: A+
- Gaven Lane had a very good and solid season. He was the second-most consistent performer on the team after Stout. Great season. Grade: A
- Eric Lee showed flashes, but really whiffed during yesterday’s final match. He seemed to “come on” late in this spring season after being a mid-performer most of the year. Grade: B
- Ethan Fang. His expectations were on the same level as Stout. But, as Stout exceeded expectations, Fang fell short. It seemed like he never found his footing this entire year, starting back in the fall. His upside is incredible…we just didn’t see it this year: Grade: C
- Filip Fahlberg-Johnsson. My opinion only: FF-J had some issues as Nationals last year. He performed great, but there was drama surrounding him and his antics. He didn’t play until the final event in the fall – possibly for this reason, although I never heard of any disciplinary action. Regardless, he disappointed this year. Maybe a “sophomore slump.” Grade: D.
- Bench. Catalano and Bond both showed some promise. Wild is a senior and probably done, but not apt to crack the line-up if he comes back. Grade: Incomplete.
All-in-all, a very good year. But seemed like for most of the year the Cowboys just never hit 100%, one through five.
