Down year, says who? On Saturday night, Oklahoma State broke a program record for runs scored in a single NCAA Tournament game in a 16-8 run-rule win over Indiana in six innings. The win came after the Cowgirls nearly took command of the Fayetteville Regional on Saturday before falling to host Arkansas in eight innings. The Cowgirls wasted no time earning their rematch with the Razorbacks on Sunday, with the first of two possible games slated to start at 3 p.m. Oklahoma State must now beat Arkansas twice on Sunday to earn a spot in the super regionals, while the Razorbacks only need to win once. The Cowgirls nearly found themselves in the driver’s seat of the Fayetteville Regional, leading Arkansas 5-1 headed into the sixth inning in Saturday’s matchup with the Razorbacks. Arkansas then scored four unanswered runs in the next two innings to extend the game, leading to a bases-loaded game-winning single from Courtney Day. Oklahoma State proved it has enough offense to hang with the Razorbacks in the record-setting performance over Indiana. The Cowgirls took a commanding lead early thanks to a 12-run effort in the third inning. Teams have only scored more runs in a single inning…

Trying to be positive about Sunday’s games…. The Cowgirls will have to wildly out hit Arky to win. Go Pokes.

Hope they can recreate a similar offensive explosion in their games today. Going to be tough.
