Daily Bullets (Dec. 31): Robet Allan Reporting Mestemaker to OSU, Where Will Hauss Hejny Be?

Thanks for stopping by – here’s your daily dose of Oklahoma State sports news. OSU Bullets • PokesReport‘s Robert Allen is reporting that Drew Mestemaker has agreed to a multi-year deal with Oklahoma State – no other outlets are currently reporting the news (PokesReport) • OSU announced another assistant coach and Rob Glass’ replacement, two more players into the portal (PFB) • What comes of Hauss Hejny in the next week is a fascinating subplot in the transfer portal: (Eric) Morris recruited him out of high school and there’s been communication between the two parties since he took the job. Would Hejny want to go through another quarterback competition should Mestemaker or another proven quarterback transfer in? Maybe. [GoPokes 247 $$$] • Last year’s running backs coach in Stillwater landed in the same position at Kansas State, defensive coordinator at UAB (KStateSports.com + X) • (2025) Cowboy Grant Seagren will take a recruiting visit to OSU (PFB) • Updated portal number for the Pokes (compared to the field) – hello Iowa State! Power Four teams with most anticipated transfer portal departures (as of Tuesday ~3 p.m. CT via @247SportsPortal): Oklahoma St — 45 Iowa St — 44 West Virginia —…

My concern: is Robert Allen even relevant any more? He may have had the inside scoop under Gundy, but does that remain? Does he know someone inside the athletic department that is privy to such portal information?

I sure hope we get Mestemaker and RA isn’t getting out over his skis in an attempt to stay relevant.

I think everything you said here is relevant and accurate.

But there are a couple of other sources that reported this before RA did. Mestemaker was never going anywhere else anyway.

Yeah, he does. I doubt it’s incorrect. Hejny should stay and compete! Of course he could head back to TCU since Josh Hoover is leaving.

No, Robert Allen is not relevant anymore. He was a Gundy sycophant. His main job was to lob softball questions at Gundy when he was under duress. Didn’t he lose his sideline reporting job with the new coach?

I believe he is “retired”

UAB hiring the DC a 1-11 team fired after 4 games is quite a choice.

Retired only from the radio team. No more free access to practice.

UAB got a con man for a DC. His resume looks great working at all those big-time schools. Until you notice all the times he was fired. He must be good at selling himself in an interview.

How much money you got osu? Thats how good you will be and how many games you will win.

Wonder if this relieves oSu of any salary burden when fired coaches are hired?
