Happy New Years from the folks at PFB. OSU Bullets • What a thoughtful take from Cowboy villain Kelvin Sampson about the new trail boss Steve Lutz: “Oklahoma State has a clear identity, which I think says a lot about Steve and what he’s trying to do here. … “I see what he’s trying to do. I’ve coached against all the greats, but nobody’s team plays harder than Steve Lutz’s. … Really impressed with their team. They’re gonna beat some teams in this building.” [PFB] • Jaylen Warren update in the latest Pokes in the Pros article (PFB) • The transfer portal activity is clearly indicating a changing of the guard in Stillwater this year – characterized by veterans leaving and up-and-comers saddling up: The guys who did hop in the portal were more established — guys who in 10 years we’re going to associate with the Alan Bowman years of OSU football (for those who, like myself, often associate teams with who the quarterback was). Guys like De’Zhaun Stribling, Kendal Daniels, Jason Brooks, etc. [PFB] • Previewing today’s women’s game for the Cowgirls against the Baylor Bears (PFB) • Cowboy Wrestling is so stacked right now: Upset Alert!197:…
I read Sampson’s comments like back-handed compliments.
“I see what Steve is trying to do.”
“They will beat some teams in this building.”
I don’t think it’s backhanded. I think it’s an implicit acknowledgment that Lutz needs better players to accomplish what he wants them to do on the court.
