Thanks for stopping by - here’s your daily dose of Oklahoma State sports news.
Roy is correct. From what I could tell on TV, that was a glimmer of old GIA when he hit that second 3 in a row and Baylor called timeout. He also stated a cold hard truth: win games and it could look better.
Since it was mentioned in the article, my favorite GIA memory (by far) was the triple OT game against Texas when they had Durant. It was simply incredible and something I’ll never forget.
Ok, mine is 1987 when Billy Tubbs brought his team to taste defeat in GIA. The rafters were rattling and sooners were shaken as the good guys emerged victorious in a true atmosphere of Bedlam.

The year after Louisville won the natty. They came to the GIA and Leroy Combs gave them everything they could handle and then some. Eddie “halfcourt” Hannon picked up a missed Louisville free throw and hit a half court shot to win the game as time expired. Sadly I was late for another engagement and left as the Louisville guy was toeing the line with 7 seconds left in the game. A grievous mistake I regret to this day……
My favorites were Eddies teams against Missouri when Norm was there. Big Country hitting the half court inbounds shot Really Eddie filled thf expanded GIA , tickets were at a premium
I can remember an article in the newspaper before Eddie was hired and someone told Norm that Eddie had just been hired here, Norm replied Oh sh*t !!!
I was there also. Great game.
I was at that game. Came in late in the second half after attending a student meeting on campus. Only seats left were down low at the end on the side near where we were inbounding the ball. It seemed like slow motion and I swore it seemed like five seconds from when Reeves bobbled the inbound pass, got ahold of it, turned and heaved it. The place exploded when it went in. I was jumping up and down and everyone was high-fiving literally anyone nearby.
Those memories were classic. I remember when ou or the chicken hawks were in town. That place would get so loud that when we went on a run, the din ceased being a noise and became a physical undulating wave that the other team could feel. You could see it in their faces. Not exaggerating. The home crowd was easily good for an extra 15 points on average if not more.
I remember the first time Dickie V came to call a game there. The crowd was electric just for that reason and he couldn’t stop gushing over the place. Kept calling it Cameron Indoor West.
Yes that look of bewilderment wa real…
It would actually feel like it was vibrating ![]()
