Thanks for stopping by - here’s your daily dose of Oklahoma State sports news.
" If I told you Cowboy Basketball was going to finish Big 12 play in the top three of the conference, how much more fun would your winter be?"
In all honesty, I’d start to get nervous and check to see if Hell has actually frozen over ![]()
Weiberg’s letter rings hollow to me when he details how they are always attempting to reduce their operating expenses. The first thing he did post Covid was increase Gundy’s salary and approve salary increases for Gundy’s staff, which led to most of Gundy’s assistants compensation reaching the top 10% of all D1 colleges. The football operating budget has been beyond bloated for many years because they allowed Gundy to basically operate without supervision. Now, after an 0-9 conference record in football, he’s begging for money from the fan base his overcompensated football coach insulted. I think I would publicly demonstrate millions of dollars of athletic department budget cuts before I would beg the fan base for money, thus showing it’s a 2 way street.
From a revenue standpoint, every surface the Cowboys and Cowgirls compete on should have a name on it. Ex. “Boone Pickens Stadium” needs to have a revenue-producing field name (Lewis Field does nothing for us).
There should be BOK or other logos on the wrestling mats. On the singlets. “O’Brate Stadium” needs a revenue-producing field name.
Karsten Creek has 18 revenue-producing opportunities.
