Interesting story. On another note, I wonder why we don’t look at injuries in the weight room to evaluate strength trainers? I wonder how many injuries were caused by over work and lack of recovery? My guess is more are caused in the strength training program than on the field. In the new age of CFB, the trainers job now is keeping you healthy and fit to play on Saturdays. How much has Glass adapted? Too many shoulder surgeries for bigs is program problem and typically is lack of alignment with position coaches. That’s happened too much at OSU in the last 5 - 6 years. I would love to see some research on injuries at OSU for all position groups.

Was living in Tokyo when Glass was hired. I didn’t know who he was, but a guy who worked out at the same gym, played b.ball (pro basketball in Japan also) at Florida when Glass was a trainer there said, “Hey, you guys hired Rob Glass”! I said, “Who?!” Greg Stolt was right, he said, “He’ll do wonders at oSu!”

We’ve had a lot of luck with injuries w/ Glass & Co, and with stamina also. That’s largely why we beat UT so many times. You think we’ve had more injuries than other schools? You should ask or read what former players think of Rob Glass’ workouts! Here’s a link: Rodriguez Weighs About 55-Pounds More Than When He Arrived | Pokes Report

There were 7 guys on the Oline with shoulder surgeries same year and 1 medically retired. I believe that was 22. That’s an alignment program issue. You can’t do heavy combo drills that destroy your shoulders and then do Max power cleans🤷🏼

Sounds like you were in the weight room watching what they do in there. Enlighten us, O Wise One!

I know every one of those players that had surgery and know exactly where it happened. It was a program issue and Glass wasn’t aligned to the rooms practice schedule. I know for a fact Glass and Dickey were held accountable for this. I like Glass the person and know he does some good things but he is dated on recovery and functional training. He is changing though, so give him credit for that. The unfortunate thing is you can’t get back those years and games missed.
