Thanks for stopping by – here’s your daily dose of Oklahoma State sports news. Three Thoughts • GoPokes 247 is doing an excellent job digging into the coaching search ($$$) – reporting specifically on multiple names having expressed interest in the role. This bit about Zac Robinson was interesting: Oct. 16 update: A private jet flew from Stillwater to Gainesville, Georgia Wednesday. Gainesville is right down the street from the Falcons practice facility. The flight landed at 2:41 eastern, ahead of when the Falcons usually practice. The Falcons’ offense got out of practice late, a source told GoPokes. Normally practice ends around 4 eastern, and they finished closer to 7 p.m. Wednesday. I’m not worried about his age specifically. But he’s 59 with zero head coaching experiencing, and is effectively a RB coach in the SEC. That feels like we’d be aiming low with that hire. Cignetti, for comparison’s sake, is older, but had been a head coach at multiple stops for multiple years and had a track record of success before he landed at IU.
Exactly. People who keep repeating the tired line that we need a young coach forget Curt Cignetti exists. Or Jim Harbaugh…
