Thoughts on a 24-team playoff.
These are all excellent points. Iām older, so I think going to a nice bowl game as a reward for a good season is better than being ranked #24 (or even #14, for example) and getting badly beaten in a playoff game. March Madness can produce some exciting upsets because there are only five players at a time and a star can get hot or come back from injury and impact a game or two. Not so with college teams of 30 or more regular contributors. I hate to see the 24-team format come into being. I agree with you that eight would have been fine.
