It’s the first Saturday of Oklahoma State football for 2022 which means ESPN’s GameDay crew got a chance to pick the game. The No. 11 Cowboys are big home favorites over Arizona State, so it should be no surprise that the entire panel picked the Pokes to win. The show was live from Austin ahead of Texas’ SEC appetizer against Alabama. Here’s what they had to say. Desmond Howard likes the Cowboys’ defense and its ability to make ASU’s dual-threat quarterback one-dimensional. “Emory Jones is Arizona State’s quarterback. He loves to run. I think that the Cowboys are going to make him pass. I like Spencer Sanders and the Pokes.” Pat McAfee was in emphatic agreement. “I’m with Dez. Give me the Oklahoma State team, till death today!” Celebrity guest picker actor Glen Powell, a UT alum, apparently took umbrage with the Cowboys being left just outside of the AP’s Top 10 this week. “I think Oklahoma State is underrated. I think Gundy’s gonna bring it home. Oklahoma State.” Lee Corso was picking with his heart and his stomach. “Oklahoma State. Too much Eskimo Joe’s.” Kirk Herbstreit took a more analytical approach to the matchup, prodding the Cowboys’ defense to…

Anyone watching this Alabama vs Texas game. Geeze I don’t know if both teams are good or both just struggling. Wish they could both lose. I can’t stand Bama but want them to win. Or I’ll have to hear Texas is back till they lose. That Ewers kid is pretty good but he’s not use to getting smacked by a legit power 5 school.

Truth be told Alabama had a really bad game. I think they set some kind of record with penalties

I recall watching the Texas/OU game last year and wondering the same thing. Turns out both were not the best of teams, especially Texas

I haven’t seen anything in the first quarter by either our defensive secondary or Spencer Sanders that suggests we’re making another trip back to the Big 12 CCG.

I agree with gundy that Dunn is ready for a head coaching job and that’s not here. Sanders is incapable of having two good games back to back. He needs to leave with Dunn.

Is that your educated opinion that nobody asked for? Good lord y’all are the biggest bunch of pussies I’ve ever seen. Cowboy up and shut up

A loss would delight you wouldn’t it joy … Sanders isn’t as sharp as last week but we are up 14.
Richardson limped off the field, hope it’s just a stinger

Looking at the upsets today all that I could think of, for certain unnamed schools, meritocracy is a truth that, like Einstein’s laws, can’t be ignored. If you hire a coach because it’s popular or you like them then good for you but expect to pay the piper when it comes to wins.

Really? Because he’s playing lights out.

A Big 12 conference title for the first time in 11 years would delight me.

Sad thing is you wouldn’t shut up after a title.
