Cliche-salad press conference…brings energy, get to the foul line, rushed our shots, etc.
Not dinging Lutz’s, every press conference in sports is like this.
We need a ball handler to push tempo, eliminate turnovers, get the ball to Ousmane or put Thompson & Avery in a position to score.
Every team shoots well in GIA - except us! That’s been the case since the McGriff/Waters/Dzigawa teams.
Unless this team learns how to make shots over the XMas break, they’re in for an ugly conference season - similar to our football team.

I know, I told my wife they need to take those baskets and burn them to the ground and replace them till we can shoot in our own gym. It’s really puzzling.
I hear the “cliche” comment - but, they all use coach-speak sometimes. (I wonder sometimes if it’s just, “the lights are on, what do I say to fill time?!” Lol) But, I just LOVE Coach Lutz’ approach to stuff. He’s direct, but he seems like he’s ALWAYS coaching…something I sometimes wondered about Boynton. Loved him, but the game seemed to get away from him sometimes. Looking forward to seeing what these Pokes can do!

Very well said. I do think there was a definite attitude adjustment for the program in going from Boynton to Lutz. Accountability and actual half court sets are the biggest differences I see. With Blynton, there was always effort on defense, so I can’t knock him for that. But the two ends of the floor seem to be clicking better under Lutz. And that’s with a hodge podge roster. Give it time. Lutz appears to have been the right hire.
