The Pokes could be closing in on a ranking.
While it was great to see the pokes go to 7-0, that was a brutal game to watch, for two reasons. Shots just not going down until the final ten minutes, and some seriously pathetic officiating. I thought I’d lost my chili for the umpteenth time and had seen just about everything after about ten missed calls (including a called foul against Christian Coleman on a three where he literally didn’t touch the shooter), until their brutish #2 chest-bulldozes into Curry, knocking him completely to the ground with no call, followed by an open two. Seriously, I couldn’t believe the home cooking.
Anyway, it’s great to see them pull out a close win against a power conference school in a tough officiating atmosphere. Sure is fun watching hoops again. Should be undefeated heading into the game against the land thieves.
And they won’t be ranked in the top 25, not for a few weeks, and only if they win over that span. They only got two votes in the latest AP poll. There is some serious ignorance nationwide about this team. Just as well. They’ll keep winning.

We have a real chance of going into bedlam (Grand Canyon scares me though) undefeated. Get past Bedlam and we just might be 13-0…this, wrestling, and getting Coach Morris: 2026 is gonna be fun!

I had to watch the first half of this game (thanksgiving tiredness put me out for the second) on one of those YouTube live stat programs. Man, was that frustrating. Anyhow, it seemed like a ton of fouls were called. Good to get a win in one of those choppy games for a team that seems to feed on momentum. Prove you can win any type of game is a great boost to confidence and shows that your peer felt for the big dance. Still haven’t got to see these guys yet, can’t wait to see them in GIA this year.

It was an ugly game for a long stretch but our offense, especially Roy, came alive when it mattered most. And we hit all of our FTs in the clutch!
This is a good win to pull out.
Glad to see this team off to a good start, but has room to improve.
The next three games are to be interesting with a decent Sam Houston State and Grand Canyon teams and of course, Bedlam at Paycom.
This team looks solid and looks like (as of now) they can be a tournament team. Still a little cautious considering our last two games against D1 competition have been single digit wins against teams that are okay, but not real world beaters.
It’s definitely better than it’s been in the past though. Even if this team loses a couple of games nonconference and can squeeze out a .500 conference they should make the tourney imo.
