Glad to read Lutz’s comments about our defense because it is not good.
Going into the game, I thought it would be a routine win. But, SHSU came to play and we came to give the game away initially.
We didn’t have a together first half and you could tell Lutz was concerned (kinda POd). But Lutz is a great find for OSU basketball.
Our previous coaches (before and after Brad Underwood) were crap, especially Boynton, at getting a team to play quality basketball without a superstar like Cunningham.
Lutz knows what he’s doing and I fully expected him to come out in the second half and take the lead and win, which he did, but it was a long, deliberate process.
I’m really impressed with Lutz’s ability to coach. We actually have a coach again that knows how to coach basketball and the GIA faithful are feeling it too.
Our crowds are building and the rowdy is not too far away from returning.
It’s been so long.
Way to go, Cowboys! 8-0 and playing and scoring like a team, not just one or two players.
GO POKES!
I’m with you and I want to BELIEVE. And I do like Lutz. To me, verdict is still out on this team. I watch body language when he starts coaching hard…and I didn’t really like the reaction of several players last night (Curry, Roy, Vukovic).
Sidebar: OU won by 18 AT Wake Forest last night. We’ll know how good we are – or aren’t – by Christmas.
Glad they’re 8-0 but it seems like they’re playing down to their competition in the first half. Hope they can correct this. Wouldn’t be surprised if they’re 1-1 in their next two games.
Kudos to the refs. They allowed an athletic, flowing and entertaining game by staying in the background and letting the athletes compete. Best refed game I have seen this year.
BTW, coach Lutz was on point with his postgame comments saying our defense will not stop any Big 12 team at this point of the season.
Those attitudes won’t last long long to me for Lutz. He’s a hard asz like Eddie which I like We also have 3 great freshmen coming in to replace attitudes
