Let’s not kid ourselves, kids these days are going to the highest bidder.
One reason there are so many portal pickups this year is that A) we lost a lot of seniors and B) there are 20 more roster spots open after the rules ditched the walk ons and made rosters to 105. It’s simple math. Now the rosters are even bigger and players can be buried further down the depth chart, we will see even more portal players than we have.
As long as they can make a difference, and have coaches that actually give a chit.

I love how you were dunking on how terrible these coaching hires were and now you’re stuck praising them because the alternative would be to praise Gundy.
It was all, “Gundy hired coordinators that have been fired before, how many teams have success doing that?” Now your GDS has forced you into the narrative that the board of regents forced Gundy to hire great coordinators. If mental gymnastics were a real sport, you’d take gold everytime. You’d be the 90s Bulls of bullcrap.

Totally agreed, but thinking that these coaches are Ace recruiters is a stretch in pay for play rules.

Yes, the BoR got involved because Gundy was exactly the issue. The huge ego and retaining incompetent coaching plus hiring inexperienced coaches isn’t the path to winning a watered down Big 12. It resulted in being 0-9 in conference play. It’s just common sense. If I were to make a bet, had the BoR not got involved at least one of those two clowns (Nardo or Dunn) would still be on this coaching staff.
The only person doing mental gymnastics with themself is you. I’ve only stated facts.
