Four Takeaways from the Transfer Portal Window

You’re the ones being deceived by Gundy. So who truly is the stupid one here? What else does he need to do for you? Go 0-12 a couple of years in a row?

Hey champ,

Man. That burn was good. The rest of the short bus was probably in stitches.

It is when people like aix_expert are literally pointing out the flaws of Dunn and Nardo to you in detail. Don’t you think it’s kind of odd that a guy sitting on a couch can identify it? However, an entire coaching staff making millions can’t? Hey now!!! Gundy’s gonna get it turned around :+1:.

His stock will never be higher. Next year, he risks injury or reduced numbers. He’d be stupid to stay in Boise, ID. Look at Ollie as a cautionary tale: 1700 and the Doak last season. This season: banged up all season, reduced stats. Oh…and that pesky 3-9 record that the team has to own.

He should’ve taken the Bama deal. At least we would’ve made it to a bowl game and had a decent offensive line :man_shrugging:.

Taylen Green didn’t go to Arkansas? Boise St hasn’t been real good for a while so nobody wanted many of their players for last 8 or so seasons.

He’ll be satisfied if we win 6 games and go to a bowl game and give you grief for that accomplishment next December. :joy:

Hey champ,

Except that you just take a hindsight view and still can’t decide what the problem was and give contradictory reasons and fixes. If you knew something, you would be making money instead of not paying your bills, then again, you could be a genius, but your repugnant personality would prevent you from ever being hired along with your odor (probably).

Yeah - he played at BSU for 3 seasons. He transferred to Ark because he was getting benched here.

Jeanty? He DID stay in Boise and will declare for the draft. He was very public about the NIL offers he had and chose to stay here. Now, if he doesn’t go to the NFL…he might transfer…but I doubt it!
GO POKES!

I was meaning if he came back for the next season. Did not know he’d already declared. Good for him.

Who’s been the one common denominator in OSU football for the last twenty years? Who’s had to fire more coaches in the last 10 years than his first 10 as a coach? Who’s consistently put the wrong QB on the field? Who kept retaining coaches when everyone else was trying to tell him they were an issue? It’s one thing if you see improvement year by year. It’s another when you retain the same staff that’s show none or gotten worse. Neither I, nor anyone else told him to do that. That’s not contradictory at all. That’s a history of identifying issues, and one person deciding to be completely stubborn about it. It’s even tougher to justify when you’ve went winless in the conference.

Gundy doesn’t hires geniuses, or at least that’s not been the trend lately. He won’t try to hire another Knowles or Monken because he doesn’t want anyone else taking credit away from him. He’s only as good as the assistants he hires. That’s been a fact throughout his career.

Hey champ,

Knowles literally left three seasons ago. Relax.

Knowles is the closest Gundy has ever gotten to a second conference title. Monken helped him get his one and only, and now he’s an OC for the Raven while Knowles is killing it at Ohio State. If you want better results then you should be asking for proven coaching and better recruiting.

Hey champ,

I’m just responding to your stupid statement that he doesn’t hire great coordinators “anymore”. Knowles was here not that long ago. He just fired two underperforming coordinators, so what are you even talking about?

People have been clamoring for Dickey and Dunn to be gone for a while now. My point is that Gundy doesn’t fire in a timely manner. Also, throughout the span of Gundy’s career (especially since 2013) Gundy has proven he doesn’t hire coaches with much future success afterwards. Even if he does they don’t stick around. Gundy wants to be the smartest man in the room when he isn’t. Normal people don’t want to work with someone like that.

The other point is he’s not the same as he was when he was in his late thirties or early 40’s. He’s gotten lazy when it comes to hiring proven coaches and getting better recruits. Hiring one or two proven coaches over the last 10 years proves otherwise. If the BoR and AD didn’t force him to make any changes in Stillwater, God only knows what kind of circus we would end up with in Stillwater.

Hey champ,

You’ve once again worn me out. I can’t even begin to point out the illogical, self-contradicting nonsense you just spouted. It’s just too exhausting. All pencils have erasers, but yours is all eraser and no point.

You can’t point it out because it doesn’t exist. Stop exhausting yourself for no reason, and actually try to learn some wisdom for once.

Hey champ,

Ok… as one of many examples, fool, you said Gundy doesn’t have the drive he did in his early 40s to make good hires, but he hired Knowles much later than that who you have acknowledged was a stellar, blue blood worthy hire, so there you go. One of many idotic, self-contradicting things you said. See if you can find ten more. I’ll give you a good boy scratch ‘n’ sniff sticker to show your mom.

No……now you’re doing what Robert28 did for a long time. You’re adding to and taking away from what I’ve stated. I said more often than not since 2013 Gundy has made more blunder and lazy hires than he did in his first few seasons. I’ve also told you that hitting on one or two hires and firing more coaches than ones that succeed doesn’t constitute a good hiring mechanism. Given that he literally just had to fire almost his entire coach staff (which has never been done before) would point in the direction of me being correct.

I also never said Gundy hasn’t ever made any good hires. He made far more good hires in his late thirties and early forties than he was over the last 10 years. If you can’t follow along then just admit it’s too hard for you to do so. Theres no shame in it.
